Went to the Botanical Garden in Lodz today, and was amazed by the number of plants growing there, which I only knew by their name from studying words for Scrabble.

Here are some of the words I have literally come accross:

HOSTA, CAREX, ACONITE, AUBRIETA, SPIRAEA, ERIGERON, ASTILBE, ACANTHUS, WOODSIA, AJUGA, GEUM and most notably this one:

TANDOORI in Cracow

so after a SERIEMA in Lodz Zoo, I have now found a TANDOORI in Krakow (in the Jewish quarter)

If you're planning to visit Poland make sure to come to Cracow. It's the most beautiful and the most tourist-friendly city in Poland.

Mannheim - one step nearer

I have paid the entry fee for the 1st German Open Scrabble Tournament in Mannheim.

I went for the cheapest option -  80 EUR (registration and refreshments only). 90 EUR pro night in the recommended hotel is a bit too strong for my East European budget :)

So now the entry fee and flights are paid. Just need to find a cheap lodging in Mannheim and my first Scrabble tournament in Germany will be almost perfect :)

Scrabble - double

A female Scrabble player from Malaysia has announced yesterday on Facebook that she's in relationship with a male Scrabble player from Sweden.

I played both of them at the World Scrabble Championship in Malaysia last year so I'm very happy for them.

Our Polish friend Milosz is in Montpellier since last week playing in the World Championship in French Scrabble.

He did reasonably well in the individual competition - placing 78th out of 81 competitors with a record of 4-10. 
It's a good result - I wasn't better in my debut either ;)

Now Milosz is going to compete in the Duplicate competition which in France is even more prestigious than the individual one.
